Perry Farrell Frees 2,300 Slaves in Sudan

Janeís Addiction frontman, Perry Farrell has recently returned home from a dangerous journey into the heart of war-torn Sudan. The singer, who has been involved with the injustices in Sudan before, accompanied members of Christian Solidarity International into Sudan to help free 2,300 women and children from slavery. Christian Solidarity International pays for the freedom of families enslaved by Sudanís Islamic fundamentalist leadership who control the northern region of the large African country. The people in southern Sudan, who are mostly Christian and opposed to the Islamic leadership, are being wiped out in unimaginable numbers. The mission Perry Farrell was involved in is considered illegal in Sudan and was very dangerous. Even more praiseworthy is the fact that the frontman was actually a witness to the exchange of cash used to buy back the slaves from the war lords. Also, along with members of Christian Solidarity International, Farrell camped out and hiked for miles in the Sudanese bush to be present when the Islamic militants returned with the 2,300 enslaved women and children. What are you doing for Christmas?
