New Album Coming Soon At The Cornershop

The London-based quintet Cornershop have announced plans to release the follow-up to 1997ís critically acclaimed When I Was Born for the 7th Time. The new set, released via Wiija / Beggars and entitled Handcream for a Generation, will make its way to record stores on April 2nd and features such intriguing track titles as “Lessons Learned from Rocky I to Rocky III” and “Slip the Drummer One.” The group, fronted by the Indian singer / songwriter Tjinder Singh, are known for mixing indie rock with musical influences drawn from Singhís native Punjabi culture. This eclectic mix of sounds has attracted an array of special guests on the new record including Noel Gallagher, former Oasis bassist Paul McGuigan, soul singer Otis Clay and production work from X-Ecutioners DJ Rob Swift. Singh wrote and produced or co-produced all 13 tracks on Handcream.
