In a strange turn of events, the drummer for The Stereophonics, Stuart Cable, has decided not to tour with his band. According to dotmusic, Cable has to stay in Wales for family reasons, although the skin banger is hopeful to join back up with Kelly and Richard for the US dates later this month. Owen Hopkin, who once drummed for V2 label mates The Crocketts, has filled in for the time being. Sources close to the band say the Cable wants to spend more time with his young son Cian who was born last February, others say that the momentary exit is due to the flat and unflattering sound found on J.E.E.P. The Stereophonics play Mother Hall tonight in Osaka Japan.
