Grandaddy Frontman Has Run-in With The Law

Jim Fairchild, frontman of the space-pop combo Grandaddy, spent the night in jail after being picked up for public intoxication in his hometown of Modesto, California, according to NME. Fairchild explains the entire ordeal on the bandís official website, www.grandaddylandscape.com, but as it is way to drawn out, let me break it down for you. Fairchild took a break from recording to grab a few beers with some friends at a local drinking establishment. While there, he drank too much and went out to his friendís car to pass out. When the party moved to a friendís house, Fairchild remained sleeping in the car. When the friend came out to check on the inebriated frontman with beer in hand, he was confronted by the local police. The police see and question Fairchild, then take him to the drunk tank for the night. No charges were filed. Grandaddy keyboardist Tim Dryden was also arrested and is facing charges of obstruction of justice, but no on-line explanation from Dryden as of yet. Personally, the whole story seems a little more boring and a little less rock and roll. Let’s see some punches thrown or spitting at least next time, Jim.
