Two Virginia Beach high school pals turned world famous hitmakers, the Neptunes, have just inked a deal with Arista. According to billboard, the duo of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo will sign and produce acts for their own Star Trak Entertainment imprint as well as Arista. The first artist to get the Star Trak love is the VA-based rap duo, the Clipse. Look for that release in April. The label has also recruited the Minneapolis rock quartet, Spy Mob, though no word on a possible release. In related Neptunes news, Williams, Hugo and lyricist supreme Shay, will finally see the release of their N*E*R*D album on March 12. The album, entitled In Search Of has been pushed back twice since 9/11. According to a spokesperson at Virgin, the Neptunesí lap dancing alter-ego will continue to record for the label as N*E*R*D.
