The Donnas Ink Multi-Album Deal With Atlantic

Sexy, hard-edged, pop-punk quartet The Donnas have signed a multi-album deal with Atlantic Records. According to Billboard, the label is planning to release The Donnasí as-yet-untitled fifth album in time for summer. The twenty-something darlings were previously a staple on the Berkeley, California-based indie, Lookout! Records, releasing three albums and selling over 50,000 units for the label. In discussing the move, bassist Donna F said, “We’ve always been a band who wanted to reach the largest audience possible, and Atlantic Records will help us do that.” The group is currently writing songs for their Atlantic debut and will enter the studio sometime this spring to lay it all down. Robert Shimp, the co-producer of The Donnas latest effort, Turn 21, will be twisting the knobs for the forthcoming set. In other Donnas news, the girls will be performing at this yearís Noise Pop festival in San Francisco on March 2.
