Automator Readies New Mix Album, Canít Stay Away From Monkeys

Dan The Automator will release a new mix album entitled Wanna Buy A Monkey, under his own name for a change, on February 19 via Sequence. I shudder to think that anyone doesnít know who the Automator is, but heís responsible for the Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Handsome Boy Modeling School, and most recently, the sexy, cool Lovage album. According to Billboard, Danís new set is a 15-track gem that features hard-to-find Automator productions with tracks by such acts as Tortoise, Doves, and De La Soul. Rarities include a France-only remix of Airís “Le Soleil Est Pres De Moi,” and English language version of the Gorillaz track “Latin Simone”, and an impossible to find demo the star did with Black Rob in 1992 that was never released. As previously reported, the Automator will be touring the US with Gorillaz beginning February 25 in Boston. Shortly after, he will be working with the Blue Man Group, taking on the role of executive producer for the troopís next album.
