Wednesday Express – Peter Party: Yorn & Buck, Idlewild Hold World

America’s most well known air rage exponent, Peter Buck, has guested on a
re-recorded track by Pete Yorn. The REM guitarist has ducked into the
studio and helped Yorn reconstruct “Strange Condition.” Evidently, Buck
loved the New Jersey rocker’s album when he heard it last year and was excited to add his
own axe techniques to the remake. The song has just recently shipped to radio and will his
shelves in the UK at summertime.

The act that is virtually a punked-up Scottish version of REM, Idlewild, has
returned with a new album and single and is ready to crank the tour machine back up. Back
with their first material in a year, the quartet will release “You Held The World In Your
Arms” on tax day, April 15, and their third album, The Remote Part will follow three
months later, as well as a tour of their native lands. Any of you who got a chance to see them last year at South by Southwest or
during their tour with goth-flavored guitar mavens Placebo know what these
youngsters have in them and hopefully they’ll be back in the US sooner rather than later.
