Letterman Switching Networks, Again?

Late night king, not in ratings but in class, comedy, and all around entertainment value, David Letterman, is flirting with the idea of jumping the CBS ship for a new spot at ABC. Nearly a decade after his well-publicized switch from NBC to CBS, the star is now talking with ABC about starting a new late-night program on that network, according to reports in the New York Times and Washington Post. Letterman would retain his current time slot if the move were to take place, one currently filled by Nightline and Politically Incorrect. According to CNN, Lettermanís contractual obligation with CBS will be fulfilled this August and negotiations are currently underway with network to keep him aboard. However, CBS has not commented on the status of those meetings. Nightline anchor Ted Koppel is reportedly furious over the possibility of losing his time slot to Letterman, and as for Politically Incorrect host Bill Maher, well, who cares what he says anyway.
