Fatboy Slim To Produce New Blur Record

Blur frontman, and Gorillaz co-creator, Damon Albarn announced at last monthís Brit Awards that he had finished 14 Blur demos. It appears as if the band, which was put on the back burner due to the tremendous success of Gorillaz, is now ready to begin work on their new record. According to Rolling Stone, Blur have asked dance hero Fatboy Slim to assume production duties on that record. According to Slim, he wasnít brought in to turn the band into a dance act. Instead, he is there to bring something fresh and new to the table. This will mark the first time Fatboy has properly produced a band. He said, “I’ve kind of dabbled in odd tracks, but I’ve never actually sat down with a band and done a whole album before.” He hopes to begin work with Blur in the next few months. Fatboy Slim is currently touring the US looking for samples and prepping for the follow-up to 2000ís Halfway Between the Gutters and the Stars.
