R.E.M. axe-man Peter Buck will be in court this week, finally facing the music after assaulting a British Airways flight crew last April. According to Launch.com, Buck is charged with one count of being drunk on an aircraft, two counts of common assault against the flight attendants, and one charge of damaging airline crockery as a result of an incident on a Seattle-to-London flight 11 months ago. The star allegedly consumed about 15 glasses of wine in the first three hours of the flight, became increasingly unruly, and thew a temper tantrum after the crew refused to continue serving him. English prosecutor David Bate said, “”[Buck] went on to upturn a breakfast trolley, smashing the crockery inside. He then picked up a knife and tried to slip it up his sleeve before it was taken from him by one of the crew.” Itís a good thing Buck decided to act like a jackass before 9/11, or he would be holed up in a British jail trying to protect his rock star ass from cheeky bum-lookers. The trial is expected to last eight days. Peter Buck denies all charges.
