Wilco Frontman Readies Debut Solo Effort

Jeff Tweedy, founder and frontman of Wilco, will release his solo debut album on April 23rd via Rykodisc. The album is the soundtrack to the movie Chelsea Walls and it features some new material, as well as some previously unreleased Wilco tracks. According to Allstarnews.com, Tweedy, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, and actors Robert Sean Leonard and Jimmy Scott all performed on the album. The film, which was directed by Ethan Hawke, follows the lives of a disparate group of artists who live in the famed N.Y. Chelsea Hotel. Chelsea Walls opens April 9. Wilco will release the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 1999ís Summer Teeth, entitled Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on April 23 via Nonesuch Records.
