Elvis Costello Tours US, Plans Plenty-o-Events For Next Three Months

For a 47-year old rocker, Elvis Costello is busier than most of the kids half his age, lining up a US tour, TV appearances, in-store signings and two gigs for winners of separate contests, all based around the release of his new album, When I Was Cruel, which drops April 23 on Island Records. Whew. Ok, the detailsÖthe man born Declan MacManus will perform two shows in April, one in New York City for winners of a Rolling Stone contest and one in Chicago for listeners of WXRT. He will then initiate his US tour in Portland, OR on May 18 will kick around the continent for 13 stops, wrapping it up in Atlanta a little over a month later on June 24, according to Billboard.com


Costello plans on making some appearances at in-stores, as well, with live performances and signings to take place at two day intervals at the Tower Records locations in Philadelphia, Chicago and New York City on April 19, 21 and 23, respectively. On top of THAT, Elvis will get his TV on, with three stops in five days, recording live performances for The Late Show With David Letterman on April 23, hitting Last Call With Carson Daly on the 25th, and ending the TV parade April 27 with a stop on The Saturday Early Show. What a busy, busy beaver!
