Monday Express – New Supergroup Forms; Boarding For Breast Cancer Lineup

Rock and roll supergroups will never cease to abound, will they? The newest one involves
Mikey Welch, ex-bassist for Weezer who has joined up with Mighty
Mighty Bosstones members Nate Albert and Joe Sirois to form the
Kickovers. Also in the mix is Johnny Rioux, who has previously lent his
axework to projects involving Mike Ness of Social Distortion. The band’s
debut album is due out this month on Mark Kates’ Fenway Records.

This year’s edition of Bording For Breast Cancer has a decidedly indie slant. Featured on
the bill this time around are Sensefield and Gorillaz music maestro Dan
The Automator. The two acts will join headliner Crazy Town for the seventh
annual event, taking place on April 14 in South Lake Tahoe. The event has raised over $1
million in past events and hopefully peeps will come and and support this event, as it helps to
make the public aware of the horrors of the disease while raising funding to help defeat it.
