Richmond, Virginia-based quartet Denali, which features two members of Engine Down, will release their debut album via Jade Tree on April 16. The album was engineered by Sparklehorse multi-instrumentalist Alan Weatherhead, with additional production by Sparklehorse main man Mark Linkous. An interesting fact about Denali is that the bandís singer, multi-instrumentalist, and primary songwriter, Maura Davis, is somewhat of a newcomer to the indie rock scene. In fact, Denali is her first band ñ ever. A number of tour dates in April and June are scheduled in support of the self-titled 10-track album. Denali will kick things off with a CD release party on April 18 in their hometown of Richmond.
