N*E*R*D Gearing Up For First US Tour

Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams, better known as the Neptunes, have been heralded as the eraís hottest production duo by a number of publications for their work with such mega-stars as Britney Spears, Olí Dirty Bastard, and NíSync. To take a break from multi-platinum, critically acclaimed production work, the Neptunes decided to become recording artists and teamed up with long-time friend Shay to form N*E*R*D. As N*E*R*D, the trio recorded their debut album In Search Of for Virgin Records and now, despite previous comments to the contrary, they are heading out on a short US tour. Scheduled to launch May 30 in Norfolk, VA, the 12-date tour will make its way cross-country before wrapping on June 15 in West Hollywood, CA. According to Billboard, N*E*R*D will be backed by the live instrumentation of the Minneapolis-based rock band Spymob, who recently inked a deal with the Neptunesí Star Trak imprint though Arista.
