Get Up Kids Plot Summer Tour, Album Release

Indie rock superstars the Get Up Kids will release the follow-up to 1999ís acclaimed Something to Write Home About on May 14 via Vagrant Records. Studio maestro Scott Litt of R.E.M., Nirvana, and Incubus fame produced the 12-track album, titled On A Wire. An extended summer tour in support of the LP, beginning May 24 in Houston, has been nailed down, including a pair of three-night stands in Chicago and West Hollywood. According to Rolling Stone, tour support will be provided by Vagrant lablemates Hot Rod Circuit on all dates, with indie mainstays Superchunk joining the tour from June 25 on. Audio Learning Center and Jealous Sound will also be on board for select dates. Check out the full tour itinerary.
