As previously reported, Mesa, Arizona-based pin up stars Jimmy Eat World will embark on their first major headlining tour following the their stint with Green Day/Blink-182 on the Pop Disaster Tour. According to Rolling Stone, tour date and venue information has just been confirmed. Launch date will be July 16 in Columbus, OH, followed by 11 more stops on the East Coast and Midwest. The Promise Ring, Desaparecidos, and Recover, will rotate as the opening acts, with two of the three bands performing each night. The Promise Ring, a Tripwire favorite, will be supporting their superb ANTI- debut Wood/Water. Desaparecidos, the side project of Bright Eyes mainman Conor Oberst, will support their debut release Read Music/Speak Spanish, while Recover will be peddling last yearís Rodeo & Picaso. Between the close of Pop Disaster and the start of the headlining summer tour, Jimmy Eat World will be hitting a number of radio festivals and performing a pair of shows a Washington DCís 9:30 club. The DC dates will be taped for an upcoming live concert DVD that will hopefully be released before the end of the year.
