For their second video from Maladroit, “Keep Fishin,í” Weezer have teamed up with worldwide superstars, the Muppets. Thatís right, according to MTV.com, Rivers and the rest of the Weezer gang recorded the sure-to-be-classic video on June 18 and 19 in Manhattan Beach, CA. Longtime Weezer video director Marcos Siega (”Dope Nose,” “Hash Pipe,” “Island in the Sun”) was once again behind the lens for the shoot, which sees the band as guests on The Muppet Show. Funny segments include a backing Muppet chorus, quips from grumpy old Statler and Waldorf, a trip to Beaker and Bunsenís lab, and some backstage antics with Miss Piggy. The collaboration was a lifelong dream for the members of Weezer, who apparently got along quite well the Muppet crew. Kermit the Frog praised the band in a statement to the press, saying, “Weezer fit right in. Theyíre rock stars, theyíre used to being around animals, bears, and egotistical pigs.” Look for this video to premier July 14 on MTV2 as part of a half-hour, behind the scenes look at the “Keep Fishiní” video shoot.
