Legendary motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson will celebrate its centennial with a ten-city worldwide tour, featuring some of the music industryís biggest names, both past and present. Billed as the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Open Road Tour, the event will feature two stages and a series of tents that spotlight the companyís history, products, and lifestyle. The event will kick off in Atlanta on July 20-21, with headliners Tim McGraw, the Warren Brothers and Indigenous, but, as no one gives a ratís ass about any of these acts, let me fill you in on the LA shows. The Harley tour will roll through the City of Angels in early September, bringing with it some names you might actually be interested in seeing. According to Launch.com, September 6 will see the three remaining members of the legendary rock group the Doors re-united with Ian Astbury of the Cult on vocal duties. The next day (September 7), Nickelback, Stone Temple Pilots, and Billy Idol will rock both the cradle of love and the main stage. Over the hill rockers Journey and the Doobie Brothers, along with funk master supreme George Clinton and Parliment/Funkadelic will round out the LA stint on the 8th.
Bob Dylan, Hootie and the Blowfish, the Nuge, and the Wailers are all signed on for the event in Baltimore from August 16-18. Additional cities on the schedule include Toronto, Dallas, Mexico City, Barcelona, Munich, Sydney, and Tokyo. Details of these shows are unavailable as of yet, but weíll keep you posted.
