Mike Myers To Play Keith Moon In New Movie?

Although two of their members are gone, The Who continue to tour the U.S., and now a film depicting the wild days and nights of their groundbreaking drummer Keith Moon is in the works. Austin Powers star Mike Myers is in talks to play Moon, the all-star skin banger and drum kit crasher who died in 1978 from a drug overdose. NME reports that Myers has been chatting with Roger Daltrey about the role, and Daltrey says “Mike is a genius. I can really see him as Keith. He’s amazing when you meet him, so clever.” Nothing is final at this time, but Myers would probably do a killer job, and could possibly get an Oscar nod for such a role. Although he is well known for his comedic performances, Myers received critical praise for his role as nightclub owner Steve Rubell in 54. Goldmember, the newest shag-a-delic installment in the Powers series, will make audiences laugh on July 26.
