QOTSA Looking for Grohl Replacement for Next US Tour

Queens of the Stone Age, who have been riding high as of late, partly due to superstar skin-banger and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joining the team on the road for their most recent tour and in the studio for their latest release Songs for the Deaf. However, that relationship will come to a close on July 28 in Nigata, Japan, when Grohl will play his last show with QOTSA in order to finish up the Foo Fighters next album. The Queens will take a short, month-long break following the Japan show, but will take to the road once again on August 30 in Washington, DC. According to Billboard, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead will join their Interscope labelmates on the 11-date tour, which will run through September 21 in Columbia, MO. QOTSA bassist Nick Oliveri has said that the band will be jamming with a couple of drummers, but he can’t say for sure who will be landing the gig.

Dave Grohl has taken great lengths to assure fans that the Foo Fighters will, in fact, release an album in October. The band’s website has posted a statement saying that the new album, which will drop October 22, will be called One By One. And according to NME, a poster also appeared at the recent T in the Park festival in Glasgow, Scotland that read, “Public Announcement. Contrary to Public Opinion There Will Be A New Foo Fighters Album in October. Please Await Further Information.”
