Conan O’Brien Will Host The Emmys

Conan O’Brien, host of NBC’s Late Night, will host this year’s Emmy awards in front of “the biggest audience that will ever see him,” according to NBC Entertainment president Jeff Zucker. AP reports that O’Brien was the peacock channel’s first pick over Tonight Show host Jay Leno, who is super cool about the situation, and even called O’Brien to offer some brotherly advice. The Emmys have rotated around a four-network lineup for several years (in order to highlight their own talent and upcoming shows) and in addition to Conan, “Today” hosts Katie Couric and Matt Lauer will anchor an hourlong pre-ceremony show for awards ceremony, which will go down on September 22. Late Night is up for an Emmy for “Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music or Comedy Program.” Good luck, dudes.
