Rapping loony and collaborator extraordinaire Kool Keith is said to be resuscitating his Dr. Octagon persona, albeit without the other half of the project, Dan The Automator. Kool Keith, who released a spaced-out solo album in 1999 on Ruffhouse/Columbia entitled Black Elvis/Lost in Space and also rocked the mic on the Prodigy’s seminal track “Diesel Power” off the 1997 breakthrough Fat of the Land, will drop his second installment in the Dr. Octagon series on his new home, Rockwell/CMH. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the slightly off-kilter musician stated
“I made up the name [Dr. Octagon]. That was my group. I chose to bring Automator in to work on the project.”
He continued in is own inimitable way: “I gave Automator his introduction to the music industry, gave him his first start. With this [album], I will make another person and create another star.” Alrighty then. Guess they don’t really get along any longer. Expect Dr. Octagonecologyst II, or whatever he decides to call it, in February of next year.
