Knee Damage Cause Strokes To Cancel Remaining Weezer Dates

Julian Casablancas’ knee problem is worse than initially thought, according to a letter sent out by The Strokes’ Whiz Kid Management. The letter informs us that the band will have to cancel the two remaining Weezer dates due to the knee injury sustained by the band frontman in Los Angeles a few weeks back. The letter continues on, in rambling, no-capitalization fashion, to state that “we’ve received lots of angry e-mails, and i just want to let you all know that we DON’T hate your city because we had to cancel or because it’s not on
the fall tour….we’re just looking out for julian’s speedy recovery…if it were possible at
all to make it there, we would.” Is this a press release/letter to fans or a post on an AOL message board? Regardless, the band will continue to tour in the Fall after their UK dates, provided young Mr. Casablancas’ leg is fully functional again.
