Underworld New Album is Less Than “Two Months Off”

Seminal techno duo Underworld, although they are set to release a brand new studio album, almost called it a wrap on their live career. Band co-founder and vocalist Karl Hyde revealed in an interview with the NME that he almost called it quits after 2000’s DVD and live album Everything Everything because,

“The DVD was such a good document of the group as it was. We’d been playing live for so long, I reached a point where I felt I’d be perfectly happy to just make records. But after a bit of time off, I realised I’d just got pissed off with playing the same tunes!” So after a bit of time off, the Hyde and partner-in-crime Rick Smith went back into the studio and recorded A Hundred Days Off, Underworld’s first without DJ Darren Emerson. The two actually wrote and recorded so much music that they now have all their b-sides for their singles already done. The first single is “Two Months Off,” which drops in the UK on September 2. The full length follows in their home country on September 16 and hits shelves on this side of the Atlantic the next week on September 24 on V2 Records.
