Bjork’s Greatest Hits Package Delayed

Iceland’s most valuable export, Bjork, has had to push back the release date of her forthcoming Bjork’s Greatest Hits album. Originally scheduled for release on September 3, the album is now slated for an October 8 street date, which will now coincide with two other offerings from the star. Elektra will also drop a six-CD box set entitled Family Tree and the long-awaited DVD of Bjork’s 2001 performance at London’s Royal Opera House on the same day. According to Billboard, while the track list for Family Tree has yet to be announced, some details are available. The set will include a 12-track disc of Bjork’s hand picked favorites, two Roots discs with songs from her early days (including material from the Sugarcubes), and a four track Beats CD with the singer’s first adventures with unconventional rhythms. Two discs with orchestral interpretations of Bjork songs by the Brodsky Quartet are also included. Hear an MP3 of “Unison” from Bjork’s critically acclaimed Royal Opera House gig here.
