Rolling Stones Full-Career Greatest Hits Package On Way

As they ready themselves for a two-year world tour, the Rolling Stones are also set for the first greatest hits release that spans their career. Having previously lost the rights to much of their early, classic catalog like “Under My Thumb,” “Paint It Black,” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” to manager-at-that-time Allen Klein, the band has struck a deal with ABKCO records to release those tracks, along with successive decades’ material on the upcoming Forty Licks. The 40-track 2-CD set will be released on Virgin, but the first CD will be the aforementioned classic work on ABKCO while the second CD will be comprised of the Virgin material. The album, which is also set to include four new tracks, only one of which has been named (”Don’t Stop”), is set to hit shelves October 1. ABKCO will precede this offering by releasing 22 digitally remastered Stones CDs, including some material that had been out of print, starting August 20.
