Chemical Brothers Work on New Album, May Produce New Blur

DJ superstars and electronic music pioneers Chemical Brothers are yet another act Blur have approached to produce their next album. You know, the one that band frontman Damon Albarn says is coming out this year but no one else knows about? The Brothers follow fellow electrohead Fatboy Slim as rumored producers, but who knows who is actually going to do it or when the album might actually come out.

In more interesting news, the Brothers are already thinking about jumping back in the studio to record the follow-up to this year’s Come With Us. Ed Simons, one half of da Brothers is getting married next month, but the duo are going to use the build up period to the union to work on new material (seemingly leaving the future Ms. Simons with all the wedding planning duties). The two would like to work with vocalists again, but in an interview in Rolling Stone, Simons stated,

“I think it’d be great to find someone — to get someone strange out of Rough Trade Records and pursue it from there rather than work with these big iconic [figures].” He continued, “I loved working with Richard Ashcroft, Noel Gallagher and Bernard Sumner, but it’d just be cool to do someone people have never heard of.” All you aspiring rock stars know what to do next…
