Manchester’s somber rock outfit, Elbow, are getting ready for a fall US tour before they head into the studio to record their new album. The 14-date tour will kick off on September 3 in Washington, D.C., and continue across the country before wrapping in Seattle on September 21. According to Rolling Stone, the band will head into Parr Street Studios (where Coldplay knocked out A Rush of Blood to the Head) to work on their as-yet-untitled new release. Ben Hiller, who produced the band’s Mercury Music Prize-nominated Asleep in the Back, will once again man the helm for new project, which is due next May on V2. Frontman Guy Garvey and company already have a number of the new songs written and ready to go, and will undoubtedly be testing them out in September. Check out the full tour itinerary.
