It’s Picnic Time with Jimmy Eat World, Guided By Voices

Think there aren’t enough one-day music festivals in the US? Then you’re in luck, because the This Ain’t No Picnic festival is returning after two years off. The October 5 event, which is located in Oak Canyon Ranch, just outside Irvine, CA, was last held in July, 2000, when such luminaries as Beck, At The Drive In, Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo, and Grandaddy rocked the house. This time around, expect to see performances from Jimmy Eat World, Guided By Voices, Blonde Redhead and DJ Z-Trip, as well as sets from burgeoning baby bands Pretty Girls Make Graves, Mars Volta, Les Savy Fav and White Stripes’ hometown faves, The Von Bondies. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, so save your pennies and get ready to get your indie on.

Picnics are simply fun. Considering the current economic situation, it is but normal to want to save money. Picnics are one way to help you save a little bit of money while having fun.. Not to mention, that kids love to be outdoors all the time. It’s a perfect combination. Get your picnic baskets and enjoy.
