The Walkmen Take To the Open Road, Bring Extra Batteries

With a video freshly added to MTV’s 120 Minutes, a write up in the New York Post, and the first single from their debut LP impacting commercial radio this week, NYC’s The Walkmen are ready to take on the world. Well, maybe not yet, but the experimental garage rockers are ready to dominate the East Coast and Canada come September 6, when they embark on a quick, 5-date tour. The band, who you may have seen on MTV News’ “You Hear it First” segment or heard on the latest Cornerstone Player (.035), will be supporting their Startime International album, Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone, along the way. The album’s first single, “We’ve Been Had” is hitting specialty outlets this week amidst accumulating industry buzz. Keep an eye out for The Walkmen.
