Fresh off the news that Rob Zombie is producing a horror movie comes word that Ash is following suit. The Northern Irish punk-poppers are making a movie entitled Slashed and have roped in some of their luminary friends to help in the merry mayhem. Included in the musicians-turned-actors are Dave Grohl, The Hives, The Vines, ex-Divine Comedy mainman Neil Hannon and Moby (who Eminem still really loves, evidently). Also taking part is Ash’s new best friend, Chris Martin, who not only invited the quartet to open for Coldplay’s US tour that kicks off next week, but whose band also covered Ash’s “Shining Light” last night at a amazingly well-received gig in their hometown of London. Slashed will be released on DVD later this year.
