The Doors Reunite, Get Themselves a Beer, and Plan Tour

One of the greatest bands in rock & roll history (well, one half of them anyway) will reunite for a Doors reunion show tonight at the California Motor Speedway and on September 29 at Molson Park in Canada. The shows will be part of the Harley Davidson Open Road tour series, celebrating the motorcycle makerís 100th anniversary. Original band members, guitarist Robbie Krieger and keyboardist Ray Manzarek, will both be doing their thing, but drummer John Densmore may not be able to participate due to the hearing disorder tinnitus. But donít worry, according to Launch, Police drummer Stewart Copeland will be onboard as a back up. The Cultís Ian Astbury will have the impossible task of filling in for rock god Jim Morrison for most of the evening, though there will be some special guest vocalists as well. The Doors are also planning a tour of the US and Europe for the Spring of 2003.
