Fenix TX Disband, Ugly-Style

Houston punk types Fenix TX are sadly no more. The quartet, who were originally named RiverFenix, have disbanded, frontman Will Salazar told rockingthescene.com. The band had released two albums for MCA, a self-titled debut and Lechuza, and were in the middle of the third when the dreaded “creative differences” raised its ugly head. The break-up seems to have been pretty ugly, as Salazar said that he still was in touch with drummer Donnie Reyes, but that guitarist Damon Delapaz and bassist Adam Lewis (who had both already started a side project called Big Black Boat) were deemed “pretty selfish and just plain retarded,” by the drummer. Alrighty then! Reunion tour soon, I suppose! Salazar hopes to continue to record under the Fenix TX name but legal problems may force him to start a whole new band altogether.
