Radiohead Recordings Sounding “Primal,” Album Due Next Year?

If you liked Radiohead better before they seeped their music in the cerebrospinal fluid of Aphex Twin, you may just be in luck. The quintet from Oxford is hard at work on their sixth studio album, and, as they told dotmusic.com, they have “hundreds of new songs pouring out.” According to Thom Yorke. the songs are sounding “very primal,” as they try to “keep up with the drum machine.” In LA working on the album with Nigel Godrich, bassist Colin Greenwood added, “We’ve recorded about 10 things and we’re about a quarter of the way through. Not that that means we’re gonna do 40 songs because that’d be too long.” The band hopes to have the album done in time to release next year, which isn’t the strongest endorsement for the amount of work they’ve completed so far. More news to follow, surely.
