Courtney Love Set To Debut “Mono” On Alan McGee’s Poptones

Obviously excited by the end of her legal wrangling with Geffen/Universal, Courtney Love is ready to re-enter the recording world. First off will be a single entitled “Mono,” which is expected to be released on ex-Creation Records man Alan McGee’s new label, Poptones. The track will be backed with the Strokes-tastic number “But Julian, I’m A Little Older Than You.” As part of her settlement with Geffen, it turns out that not only does Love now have control of all old Hole recordings, but the five albums that the band owed the label as part of the contract are no longer due. Geffen does get a cut of future Love recordings, and that may be a point of contention with Poptones, delaying the release of “Mono.” Stay tuned…
