Metallica Album Nearing Completion

The next Metallica album is closer to completion, if a person who logged on to the band’s fan board as Lars Ulrich is to be believed. Ulrich said that the trio (plus producer Bob Rock, who has been, uh, rocking the basslines) had already pared the track selection down to about 30 tracks. Eventually, it will end up in the realm of 10-20, according to the site. The band hopes to finish recording by January and want to get the album on shelves by sometime in the spring. Ulrich even stated that a song in which he sings may end up on the final version of the album. Great. So now Metallica is turning into later-era Genesis. Sweet.
