Chicago’s very own emo darlings, Hey Mercedes, are gearing up for a 20-date US tour in support of their latest Vagrant offering, The Weekend EP. DC-based punk rockers Avail will accompany Hey Mercedes for most of the trek and will be supporting their latest Fat release, Front Porch Stories. Adding to the indie goodness, the final four shows of the tour will see Hey Mercedes labelmates The Get Up Kids thrown into the mix as well. So fans in Lawrence, St. Louis, Omaha, and Iowa City have one hell of a holiday treat to look forward to.
According to Pitckfork, Hey Mercedes have spent some time rehearsing recently in Spread Eagle, WI, (insert your own joke here) and have managed to drum up 15 new songs and a pair of covers. Expect to hear a taste of these new tasty morsels at the upcoming shows. The band is booking studio time for March to lay down the new material. Check out the full tour itinerary below.
