Sonic Youth Records Eight Songs For French Film Demonlover

New York noise mongers Sonic Youth have donated tracks for use on the soundtrack to the French film, Demonlover. The soundtrack, which also features tracks from Death In Vegas and Goldfrapp, contains EIGHT entire new SY songs, including such wondrously named numbers as “Safe In Hell,” “Superdead,” and “Slambient Desire.” No news as to US release dates for either the film or the soundtrack, but the CD booklet evidently contains a long essay written by the film’s director, Olivier Assayas regarding how Sonic Youth got involved and how the two parties worked together. Lord knows what language it’s written in, however…

The Sonic Youth tracks on the Demonlover soundtrack:

“Move Away”
“Control Freak”
“Safe in Hell”
“Electric Noisefield”
“Slambient Desire”
“Melodikim”
“Teknikal Illprovisation”
“Superdead”
