Aerosmith maestros Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have been named in an internal investigation at the NYPD in regards to a concealed weapon permit granted the two on November 12 of last year. Apparently the two musicians used some of their star power to persuade two members of New York’s finest to cut through the red tape and expedite the application process. According to Launch, Deputy Inspector Benjamin Petrofsky and another officer were given VIP access, backstage passes, and a limo ride to an exclusive after party in exchange for the little favor. Apparently, the two stars have been stalked on numerous occasions and have permits to carry concealed weapons in quite a few states. The officers in question have denied any wrongdoing, and honestly, is it really that big a deal? That’s what being a rock star is all about ñ using back stage passes to get whatever you want (normally drugs and slutty chicks, but gun permits make sense). This also goes out as a warning to all potential Aerosmith stalkers: Tyler and Perry are armed to the teeth, so keep your distance.
