Prolific songwriter Ryan Adams has made no secret of the fact that he has a desire to record other styles of music than the alt-country that has made him a star. Being that he has a contractual obligation to Nashville-based Lost Highway Records, it is unlikely that any of his punk/hardcore rock aspirations will be met with open arms by the country-leaning label. However, speaking to NME, Adams said, “I’m not officially supposed to say this, but there may or may not be this band called The Finger that just released this record on vinyl and I don’t knowÖ I heard that I played on it. Let’s leave it at that. I heard they’re good though.” According to NME, The Finger’s independently released album is entitled We Are Fuck You and has been limited to 1,000 copies. No mention of Ryan Adams, or other suspected participant Jessie Malin, is made in the liners.
