System So-Cal Signing A Success

Thousands of Southern Californians turned out for Los Angeles thinking man’s metal act System Of A Down’s signing at the Glendale, CA, branch of Tower Records. The quartet had just dropped an album of rarities entitled Steal This Album and this was their first appearance since that release. Unlike their last mayhem filled free appearance in the LA region, last year’s attempted gig at Club Vynyl, this event went off without a hitch, thanks to wristbands being handed out. Even then, people still camped out all night and lined the streets during the signing, hoping to catch a glimpse of their heroes. The band rewarded their fans by signing goodies for over two hours. Next up for SOAD: some time off. They’ll take a break before going back into the studio to record the follow up to the multi-platinum Toxicity and expect a new release in 2004.
