Oasis mouthpiece Liam Gallagher, along with fellow band member Alan White and two security personnel, were attacked by a group of youths in Munich over the weekend (Saturday, November 30). The “unprovoked attack” left Liam in need of some serious dental work, as the knuckle sandwich he was greeted with dislodged a number of his pearly whites. The two members of Oasis security got it even worse and both were taken to a nearby hospital for medical care, one after being knocked unconscious. Drummer White was the only member involved who escaped without injury.
The damage to Liam’s face and teeth have forced Oasis to pull the plug on a pair of German tour dates – one in Munich, on Sunday (December 1) and the other in Hamburg this evening (December 2). A statement given to NME by a band spokesperson reads, “Tonight’s show in Hamburg at the Colorline Arena has been postponed while Liam has further dental work to repair his two front teeth. The two postponed shows should be rescheduled shortly.”
The youths involved in the attack fled the scene before police arrived and have yet to be tracked down.
