Stuart Copeland’s Poor Balance Stalls The Doors Triumphant Return

Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek, one half of the original Doors line-up, had plans to re-launch the legendary band next week for a string of highly anticipated live dates. However, those plans have had to be rescheduled due to an injury to fill-in drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police). According to Billboard, the time-keeper apparently broke his arm after falling off of his bicycle on a path near his LA home. Rumor has it, a squirrel ran out in front of him and, rather than squish the poor thing, Copeland heroically leapt from his bike and sacrificed himself. It either went down like that, or he just had a brain fart, lost his balance, and awkwardly fell to the ground trying to catch himself with an outstretched arm. Regardless, the Doors scheduled tour launch at the Palms in Las Vegas has been moved from December 8 to January 19.

The new Doors line-up includes original members Robbie Krieger (guitar), Ray Manzarek (Keys), Stewart Copeland (Drums) and Ian Astbury of the Cult (Vocals). Original Doors drummer John Densmore was forced to sit out of the reunion tour due to a severe case of the hearing disorder tinnitus.
