The Vines Use “Break” To Start Work On Second Album

As previously reported, The Vines have decided to take a break from touring following an on-stage brawl between Craig Nicholls and bassist Patrick Matthews in Boston at the end of last year. The young Australian lads are, however, not taking a break from the band. According to Australian music site Undercover.com.au, “Three members of the band are currently shacked up together at a residence in an undisclosed neighborhood in Sydney. They’re quietly kicking back before heading into a Sydney studio to commence recording of the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Highly Evolved album.” Following this report, doubts about the band’s participation at this year’s Big Day Out festival have been laid to rest. It seems that not only will The Vines play the huge Aussie festival, but they are now expected to debut up to four new songs along the way.
