The Walkmen And Hot Hot Heat Join Forces For Co-Headlining Tour

Two of the most talked about new bands of 2002, The Walkmen and Hot Hot Heat, will hit the road January 23 on a co-headlining West Coast tour. The two bands will trade off closing duties throughout the 12-date trek, which I predict to be a huge success for all parties involved. NYC-based rockers The Walkmen earned high praise from the critics last year with their StarTime Records debut, Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone, and landed themselves on multiple year-end “best of” lists. Hot Hot Heat made some major strides in 2002 as well. The success of their debut full-length, Make Up The Breakdown, prompted Warner Bros. to sign the Canadian troop and we should be seeing the fruits of that new relationship later this year. As far as performances go, these two bands were at the top of their game when I saw them separately last year. The friendly competition of this tag-team tour will no doubt push The Walkmen and Hot Hot Heat to the next level.
