One year after the acclaimed Goodbye Country, Hello Nightclub, Britain’s Groove Armada return with their fourth album, Lovebox. This party-hard, soul-funk, song-based stunner is less “Dance Album Of The Year” and more “Album Of The Year.” Its fresh raw approach to music builds on their rocking live shows with their 8-piece band and features a host of guest vocalists from Neneh Cherry, Richie Havens, and Sunshine Anderson. Standout tracks include “Purple Haze” (no relation to Hendrix) which samples ’60s/’70s rock legends Status Quo, “Madder” – a dub-hop funk-rock track with MC M.A.D. (the voice of “Superstylin’”), and the groovy “Final Shakedown.” The group is currently on tour Down Under, and you can pick up the album in the U.S. on January 21st.
