Dandy Warhols Extend Their Welcome To The Monkey House

Portland’s pride and joy, The Dandy Warhols, have finally finished work on their third album for Capitol, named after a book by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and have their eyes on a July release. Welcome To The Monkey House features a few of their buddies in the mix, including Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex) on production for two of the tracks, and help on songs from ex-Lemonhead Evan Dando, who co-wrote a number called “Last Time High,” Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran (who also co-produced the album with singer Courtney Taylor), and Nile Rodgers, who appears on “The Scientist,” which is sadly not a Coldplay cover. According to MTV, the album, the band’s first since 2000’s 13 Tales From Urban Bohemia, will be preceded by premier single, “Used To Be Friends,” which may or may not be about Michael Jackson and Martin Brashir.
