White Stripes And Their Army Of Elephants

As was mentioned earlier this week, April 1 is now the destination date of The White Stripes’ Elephant after leakage of the album spread across the Internet like a virus. However, if you are a real collector (hello, Drew Goldberg), you will rejoice after finding out that different formats in different parts of the world will have different artwork. On the band’s website, Jack White tells of his designing the artwork and how he’s “seperated (sic) the earth into three parts vertically” with each part having separate art for CD and vinyl from each other section of the earth. The sections of the orange seem to break down as North/South America, Asia/Australia and Europe/Africa. Jack also berated those who had downloaded the album already, saying it was similar to peeking at Christmas presents before Christmas. The illustrious Mr. White implored, “we want you to have it when we want you to have it,” so I’d expect none of the art will be available until much closer to release time.
